heyyy i'm josie

I love serving the world through creating photographs and images that become cherished memories. I create photos for people who are yearning for images of themselves that they LOVE, and want to enjoy the experience of taking them.

I am so lucky to get to capture you in your element! I want to photograph your love, your accomplishments, or just the joy of every day life!

When I’m not behind the camera you can catch me playing roller derby, practicing calligraphy, and mostly sending (I think great, they might say terrible) jokes to my friends. I’m also a violinist, and you will always find me jamming to folk music while I’m editing your pics-- don’t worry though, for your session we’ll play whatever makes you feel your best.

How can photography facilitate justice?

I’m a graduate from (what I think is) the coolest school in Canada, Quest University. The reason I think Quest is so fab is that I got to design my whole curriculum, and study exactly what I wanted. And what I wanted to study was how photography can be used to facilitate justice. I wanted to explore how the camera-- a tool that has been used to oppress and control people for years-- can also be used as a way to empower people! I bring that knowledge to all my sessions, because it is super important to me that the photographs I take are authentic to who you are and make you feel your best. In case you’re not convinced that I actually know how to use my camera and don’t just know the theory, I've studied photography at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Alberta University of Arts and Design. To see more of what I've been up to, you can check out my LinkedIn.
